Depends how old he is, but possibly. Adults tend not to need feeding every day (depending how much you feed them). Also are you feeding in the evening, because that is when they tend to eat?

He looks a little young to only be eating every other day. However, his weight appears to be just fine. Are your hot side temps and supplementation right? How long have you had him? How often do you handle him?

Then your gecko is probably stressed. You should give it 2 weeks to settle in before handling it. It's in a new place with new smells, sounds, and sights. It doesn't need the added stress of handling.

Also, I'm not going to say you necessarily shouldn't put your gecko on your shoulder, but be careful. They will jump, even if that means several feet to the ground.

Hi,

Can you post a picture of the enclosure just to make sure there's not a problem with his set-up that you may not be aware of?

One pointer: How about just a very small bottlecap of plain calcium carbonate (no D3) in the tank only? The purpose is for backup. Your leo should be getting his calcium there only infrequently :).

An Exo-terra tank will be a wonderful birthday gift! Love those front doors! E-t also makes a 36 x 18 x 12 tank.
