Marbled and Pictus sharing a divided tank?

Hi, I have a 30 gallon long aquarium with a screen lid (well what's left of it after my cat attacked it lol) which I have divided in 2 halves...one side has a marbled gecko (6inch male), and tonight I purchased a Pictus gecko (2 inch unknown) and decided to split the tank and put him on the other side.

Has anyone ever done this? Splitting their tanks like that for 2 completely different species? I have a 18" fluorescent light 12/12 cycle for light, and a blue heat bulb that is currently in the middle to light and heat both sides at the same time (and will go get an under tank heater and place it in the middle to increase the temp a bit more as the marbled is not picky but the Pictus likes more heat) so basically the middle of the tank is hot and each end is cool

Are we talking Oedura? Or something else? Pictus are from Madagascar I believe. If we are talking about the same types of geckos, I would not consider it as a possible soloution. Two different climates, as well as arborial geckos having a tendency to get over dividers. Maybe a picture of the marbled gecko would get a true I.D. of the species. Also, if you are talking about a true oedura, most can be housed in pairs in 10 gallon enclosures. I prefer 20 talls (same blueprint as a 10 gallon but taller).

It is divided by glass sealed with silicone so the humidity should not cross over too much and the glass is all the way up to my screen top (a bit open at the bottom but I've made sure the substrate covers that small crack)...I will try to take pics later, but my camera is not working good atm...from the care sheets they share similar temps (with the marbled being very flexible) and humidity for the marbled is 75% and the pictus 40-50% so I will be spraying more in the marbled side and checking to see how much of the humidity "seeps" into the pictus side...I am thinking of giving this a go for a week or so and if too complicated will get another tank for either one (most likely the marbled as I would like to see him in a vertical enclosure for more height)

But is your marbled gecko an oedura species? Marbled gecko is used to describe a few different species from Australia, Africa and Asia.

This is the marbled gecko I have if that helps (was told was from Australia) not sure of scientific name...I am slowly modifying his habitat so that he will have rock walls and vines and live plants

It is a pure miracle that he is alive ATM, left for a few days on holidays and came back to find my cats had busted through the screen top, which fell inside the tank with all the light fixtures so basically he had free roam of the house...found him on the bottom of the tank beside his hide scared witless but alive and well (I ordered a more secure "cat proof" screen top, just waiting for it to come in

Yeah don't know he was sold as a marbled gecko from the victoria part of Australia and the care sheets that i've managed to find picture the kind I have...the guy that sold him to me was actually very knowlegeable about reptiles (compared to other employees I've seen) and gave me really good info on his care...which is similar to the pictus other than humidity

It looks to me to be a Gekko Grossmanni from Asia. Though I am not good with Gekko species. It is not an Oedura or Christinus. I do not usually recommend keeping different species together, and I have had too many mishaps to find a divider to be a good option for separation. What are the dimensions of the 30 gallon, and the dimensions of the spaces you plan on using. Also, if you would like some more info, I would recommend posting either under unidentified species, though it is a marbled gecko (just not an Aus. one), or under the Gekko sub-forum for a little more insight.

The tank is a 30 gallon long so 12 deep by 14 high and not sure how wide, will have to measure once I get home tomorrow...I want the marbled to eventually be in a higher tank but that will have to wait till I have a bit more money (or I can find a cheap second hand one...just missed out on a 75 gallon for 300$ with stand darn lol as my son wants a turtle soooo bad) anyways I think ur right in the species after googling it it looks like mine, which I had the right setup but basking spot was too low so will remedy that asap and find some vines for him (don't think I relly need to recreate the leaves on the wall since he won't be laying eggs lol but shouldn't hurt if I do once in the taller tank as I am trying to recreate as natural as possibble
