Tropical Foliage plant & Tokay

What is a tropical foliage plant? Can you give the scientific name for it?

I'm not going to chime in on what plants to use since neither Gecko eats greens which makes most broad leaf tropical plants reasonably safe. There are a few exceptions but I can't find my list right now.
The big issue is that they both Gecko drink water droplets off of the leaves and almost all 'tropical' plants have been sprayed with insecticides and fungicides which will make the water toxic to you animals.
Some of those produces are effective for 90 days so the plants need be allowed to get the chemicals out of their leaves,etc. before being placed into their enclosures.

That plant is a Schefflera (probably Schefflera actinophylla) and if it is pesticide free, you can of course use it in a tokay enclosure.
Not a plant for tokays to climb on, but contributes to giving shelter and improving the cage climate.
Schefflera do thrive well under relatively low light cobnditions, which mak them quite suitable for nocturnal geckos tanks.

With most any plants that I use, I take them out of the pots when I get them home and replant them in soil that has no added nutrients or pesticides. I wash the plants completely off and shake as much of the old dirt off of the roots as possible. I then repot them and let them go through a bit of a quarantine before putting them in with the animals. Plants like pothos are nice because you can take cuttings from the plants that you already have and know that they're safe. So you end up with an endless supply of plants for your vivs.
