Modified Humidifier

I am working on modifying this:

Sunbeam Ultrasonic Humidifier, Sunbeam Filter-free Humidifier, Visible Mist Humidifier, Antimicrobial Humidifier

I already started it but was wondering if anyone has ever done the same thing with one that has a fog exit like this one has. I was to shove a hose in the hole and surround it with plastic to keep any fog from escaping. Now just working on the adapters and such. Using a hose that is about a inch in diameter and now looking for adapters that will attach it to and allow me to branch off to hoses that can fit in the hose holders in exo terras. Thanks.

I have not used one like that, only the ones that you could easily fit a pvc pipe into the output vent... also, I am not sure how effective the much smaller hoses will be with the mister... I had always used the larger hoses all the way through and just set it on top of the cage/tank.

The hose works fine. Get a nice flow and everything. I noticed today there is rust on the screen were the hose was at. I don't know if this is cause I had it on to long, covered were the hose was with plastic bag to keep the humidity in, or cause I use tap water. I'm going with the tap water and all it's minerals. Going to have to modify it to just go directly in the tank and use distilled water like I should have done in the first place.

If you use Tap Water it will shorten the life of the unit because the Minerals will build up on the Device and it will stop working..

Tap Water can kill animals also

since when? I know tap can harm amphibians but never heard of it harming other animals. Been using tap for 20 plus years for geckos, monitors, turtles, etc and never have had a problem. Have even used up until recently with amphibians and never had a problem. Only switched to spring for the frogs cause had less water spots, same with distilled for others.
