Female Sikorae Gravid - Things to Look Out For?

It didn't sound like impaction to me. Eggbound maybe. Who knows, you're a lucky keeper when you know pretty close to certain why a uroplatus passes. I'd cut her open to see if she's full of eggs, otherwise I'd chalk it up to that weird bloating/obesity thing that sikorae seem to be so susceptible to.

I am so sorry for you. Keep in mind sikorae do pose problems to a lot of keepers. You are far from being the only one. Next time, make sure you purchase a captive-bred animal from a good breeder.

Thanks for all the help on this. She was a wild caught juvenile when I got her a few years back. I haven't seen a wc on sale for over a year.

With some reptiles a soaking in water just slightly above room temperature and up to their shoulders twice per day is recommended to release impaction or egg binding. I didn't try this - she seemed stressed as it was. Is this something that could have helped her?

She's being kept cold (frozen) until I decide what to do with her. There's a few universities around me that might find her interesting. I could see if they're interested in looking at her. I've seen a few videos on cutting open geckos but I'm not sure I'd know what I'm looking at - might do more harm than good.

Freezing will alter the body. I don't think labs would easily find something on a thawed body. It's best to keep them in 95% alcohol for such purposes. About the baths, I don't think it would have changed anything.

Cut away dude, she's dead so you can't do more harm than good. If you're going to keep uroplatus the more you know the better.

I'm no herpetologist but I'm guessing this is the cause and is not normal.

The mass had the consistency of a hardboiled egg. It was not hollow at all. There were two in there, one smaller and softer than the other. It was attached, I'm unfortunately not sure what to but I had to cut it out. You can see it's not perfectly round but is bulging in various areas. It smelled rather bad as well. It seems her intestines are normal sized. I'm sure there are better techniques than my hack job but at least we can see inside.

I am nearly sure these are eggs. For what reason they were not properly laid, this I cannot say. They have not reached their full development, maybe an infection grew from there.
