My giant day gecko is about 2 weeks old , and i found him in bamboo , he tryed to go out of bamboo , but he can't , so i took him out of bamboo , and he started yawning . I sprayed him with water ( he looked dehidrated ) , and gave him few drops of water on his mouth , and he licked it . I put him on bamboo , and lighted him , he started to get light colour , and he just can move his tail ! WHAT SHOULD I DO ?!?!?

Hey, to give you help we need more information.

Cage size?

Temperature?

Basking spot temperature?

Humidity?

What have you been feeding him?

After you took him out of the bamboo can he climb again?

Pictures are sometimes also helpful. If I had to guess I would say that the enclosure is too hot. If he cannot climb he might be getting ready to shed or he is very stressed.

I'm sorry for your loss! That's terrible. Was it a glass cage? I left my Zoo Med Terrarium outside with my geckos in Texas heat because the pest control people came into my apartment to spray. I totally forgot that I had left them outside when the sun was beaming at the cage. I noticed my geckos where on the ground searching for some shade. I brought them inside and I actually picked them up with no resistance from them. I took them to the Vet and they were 100% good. IF you're going to keep your geckos outside, do NOT put them in glass terrariums. Use the screen cage and make sure they get enough hiding spots.
