Basic Lighting Question

I just bought the Zilla power strip with timing. I set the time from 7 am to 6:30pm. Should I leave the light on longer?

Both lighting. I heard you have to have it on for a certain amount of time so they can breed? I'm trying to get my geckos to breed. Thanks for your reply.
