Leopard Gecko changing colors

What are some reasons for a Leopard Gecko changing colors?

I have two female Super Hypo Tangerine Baldies. One is about 6 1/2 years old, the other is about 6 years 3 months. They use to be the same color, but the older one has gotten very dark over the past year. It use to be hard to tell them apart, but they are totally different now.

Their diet or habitat hasn't really changed. The only thing is, I got them a background and a different cave.

Their basking temps are kept at 88°-90°. The other side is kept at 80°-85°.

Here is a picture of her from just 2 year 9 months ago (I did take all the sand out, they now have slate tile):

This one is just from a few days ago, she is a darker then she looks in the picture:

And this is both of them together:

I'm no expert, but I think as they get old and shed, their patterns and/or color changes. not sure if that applies to matured adults of that age though.

Also, the scars on them? Cage fighting?

They don't have any scars. Are you talking about the spots on their backs?

Super hypo tangerines are known to get darker as they get older. They can get dark as soon as a few years old. But even when they do get darker, their colors can still flare up when they get excited or heated up for some reason (such as when breeding). It's quite funny to see their colors change.

My bad, just looked like it :S
Sorry.

That's ok. :) I know they look like they could be scars from the pictures. I've actually never seen them attacked each other, not once. The closest thing I saw was a few times they've grabbed each other tails when I put the crickets in there. All but one of the times they let go immediately. One time did scare me cause she started thrashing a little, but only for a second. I was so worried her tail was going to fall off, but it didn't. :)
