My mealworm and superworm colony is infested by the dreaded grain mite plague! Have yall had any success ridding yourselves of them without using destroying your colony? I've heard wonders about predatory mites, but I feel like they would probably get thrown out a lot when I clean out the frass. Have any of yall tried Liquid Ladybug? If not, any other suggestions?

I had the same problem when I put my mealworm tub inside the large cricket breeding cage to keep them warmer. There was an explosion of those mite by the millions in a thick moving mass. The problem/solution is the conditions they are kept in. Change the conditions (heat, humidity) of the mealworm tub by increasing the heat and humidity to those favored by the mites will cause the mites to reproduce exponentially. You can prevent them by lowering your temps. As far as humidity your stuck with it in Georgia. I had the same problem once when I lived in Georgia.
