When are giant day geckos considered adults...

Hello,
I just got an 8 month old male Phelsuma grandis last week. He is starting to take to his new environment. I would guess his length is about 6 inches. Since there are different feeding regimes for hatchlings, juveniles, and adults, I was wondering which category he would fit into?

Right now he will gobble up 6ish 3 week old crickets, every day or two, and he seems to like the day gecko diet. Has no interest in meal worms.

I guess what I'm asking is... Is he considered a juvenile, or an adult at this point?

Hey I'd give an age of about 18 months to really consider them adult. Up until at least 12 months you'll want to supplement more frequently. Since grandis get so big you could give them a bit longer on the supplements before backing down. Young geckos need more calcium for growth.

Thanks Adam,
I'll keep feeding him dusted crickets and day gecko diet at he same rate. I find the crickets lose their dust, before he gets most of them... I may add some to the meal replacement diet. I also have a UVB light to help with vitamin D3 synthesis to keep him happy.
