Young Leopard Gecko Eating schedule

Hello, I have jest recently purchased two Leopard Geckos. I am not sure on the age (from head to tail they are a little over 5 inches) and I was wondering about how much should I feed them at a time and How many times a day/week. As of now I am using small crickets with Flucker's Calcium with D3. I also have a small lid of it in their cage as well. Also if some one could estimate an age aswell that would be great!

Hard to estimate their age, how much do they weigh?

For hatchlings and juveniles, they should be eating every day. You feed them and get a feel about how many crickets they'll eat during each setting. Some geckos eat more than others, so it's something you should get a feel of. The general idea is to see how much the gecko will eat within 10-15mins, and then take the rest of the feeders out so they don't roam inside the tank over-night.

It's not wise to place calcium with D3 inside their living enclosures, you'll want to remove that. D3 overdose can be fatal to your geckos. It's also best to dust with a multivitamin supplement such as repashy calcium plus or zoo med reptivite with d3. Dust 2-3x a week with them and you'll be set, no additional supplements are needed. Plain calcium with d3 is not quite good enough of a supplement for geckos.

I am not sure of their weight, i do not have a scale on hand at the moment But i will for sure take out the calcium from their enclosure. Thank you for your help!

How are you doing for tank size and temperatures? How are you heating their enclosures?

I am using a 20 gallon tank for 3 leopard geckos (I just got a baby a few nights ago) although I plan on upgrading to a 30 gallon shortly. Temperatures seem to be well, cold side is room temp, and my hot side is about 85 degrees. I am using a red light right now but and going a purchase an under the tank soon.

A 20 gallon LONG (30 x 12 x 12) is the minimum size in which to easily establish a cool end and a warm end.

It is important to quarantine all new geckos for at least 60 days.

What sexes are your older geckos?

Geckos of different sizes should not be housed together.

Temperatures for all leos regardless of size:
88-93 F (31-34 C) ground temp at warm end inside the warm dry hide
no greater than 85 F (29.5 C) air temp - 4 inches above ground on the warm end
no greater than 75 F (24.5 C) air temp - 4 inches above ground on the cool end

Leave the UTH on 24/7. Can turn off overhead heating at night.

Without proper temperatures these leos will be unable to digest their food.

I recommend an UTH under the tank and a ceramic heat emitter overhead. Be sure to get at least one thermostat to connect to the UTH.
