Sick Tokay Gecko

I gave a CBB male Tokay to someone about 8 months ago. His brother that I still have weighs 140 grams now. These people call me and say there Tokay is sick and bring him over. He weighs 65 grams. His tail is a little crooked in a couple of spots. Seems to have trouble moving, holds his head up and sometimes holds his mouth open a little. I don't know if he was trying to open his mouth all the way and couldn't. I ask them if they have been dusting the crickets and they say they haven't. I think it may be metabolic metabolic bone disease from a lack of calcium/vitamins. It really annoys me that they let him get in that conditions. I didn't think at the time to take a picture at the time. I told them that he is dehydrated and instructed them how to give him water and how and when to dust his crickets. I also gave them some calcium and vitamin powder. Does anybody have any ideas on his problem and how to treat him?

If he has been eating un supplemented crickets he's malnourished. I'm betting they dont feed him often enough either.
Proper diet is about all you can do here :(

You might want to double check all their husbandry. Is he being kept in an appropriate cage with enough heat? Poor guy.

I agree with Aimee. The best thing for an animal like this is proper food/nutrition and husbandry. Beyond that, there's not much of anything that's going to help the situation. The sooner the better.
