Someone I know mentioned that having a big amount of space can stress a gecko out? And in particular slow the recovery process? (Said gecko was treated 3-4 months ago for parasites, but is taking a while to recover)

I've never heard of anything positive come after this degree of downgrading. I believe you mentioned it was wood which should not be difficult to heat. Realistically speaking, if one area is too cold, the leo would just avoid it. A smaller enclosure can easily overheat and not allow the leo to escape the heat. Can you post a picture of the enclosure?Okay, thank you for the reply. I am downgrading Spyro to a smaller vivarium ( 18 or 24 inch). She's currently in a 4ft long viv. It's harder to keep it warmer with this colder weather, despite over head bulb and heat mat.
Well she seemed to prefer her older viv, which was smaller. And she spends all her time on the hot side, never the cold side. I haven't got any recent images of the viv she's in now, but will be able to upload one tomorrow if that's okay?
