I have had this proven pair since spring. All summer I was looking for signs of breeding and nothing. They actually seemed to dislike eachother alot: I would here them growling and scuffling around on the screen top all the time. It always seemed to be the female intimidating the male. Anyways, I came to terms with the fact that it wasn't gunna happen this year and began preparing to cool them down. Its been a warm fall here so I turned off the day-time halo bulb that I had had on them about a week ago just so that they have a smoother transition into cooling--so they have had no light directly on them. I've also been feeding a bit less and opening the window at night too get them used to cooler weather. I was about to stop feeding altogether within the week and full cool down by the end of the month.*
Now here is the problem: I just caught them mating!! What should I do? Would it be ok to let them do their thing and not cool them down this winter in hopes of fertile eggs or would that mess up their cycle too much?
