Hopefully someone on here has been noticing the same trends as I have...
I've had a few Enigma leopards for a couple years, all of which were purchased as hatchlings. Given the exact same feeding schedule as a non-enigma, I've noticed that the enigmas seem to grow much slower than any other morph of leopards. Not only weight-wise, but also in the overall "density" of the animal (enigmas seem to feel 'soft', whereas non-enigmas have a 'thicker' feel). Has anyone else seen this in their own collections?
I'll give a couple examples:
Enigma female bought Apr '12 weighed 6grams, weighed 36g in Apr '13, today weighs 69g (Obviously ended up developing fine)
Enigma female bought Dec '12 weighed 10g, today she weighs 36g (Still showing slow, but steady growth)
Non-enigma female bought Sept '12 weighed 6g, today weighs 60g (roughly 50g after the one year mark, and consistently gains weight)
Enigma male (has enigma syndrome) bought Sept '12 weighed 12g, and today has topped out at 31g
Non-enigma male bought Mar '13 weighed 4g, and today weighs 37g (not even a year yet)
Is this just something I am seeing in my own collection? Or have other people seen this as well? Could it just be an inherent trait of the morph?
