Shedding problems

I got my baby/hatchling crested yesterday and he was starting to shed. Today he is still shedding and hasn't made much progress in it. Should I intervene or not? If so how should I do it, I don't want to rip his skin.

Have you got a pic of him right now?

There is a period in which the shedding process make the entire body turn white, and it could last hours or a day. Then when it's all white they start to crack up their skin. If you are worried, put something like humid rollpaper on the hot spot, and spray the terrarium. It will make the humidity level rise up and help the skin to be easily removed.

I do that with my leos who can't have a humid box(some of them eat everything around them while shedding and it ends with digestive issues). And it works well.

Don't try to remove by yourself the shed

If he really doesn't shed well, you can put warm water in a box (not hot water, the water must be at the gecko usual temps). The level of the water must be at the same level as his belly.Cover the top of the box, and don't forget tiny holes to let him breathe. Let him in the bath for 10 minutes. Then , gently remove the shed with the tip of your finger, or a cotton bud.
The most important parts to check are the nose, the fingers, and the tail, because if the shed dries and stays for too long, it can cause health issues to the gecko.

But don't worry, everything will be ok^^

After the bath, put him on the paper roll, and gently remove the water.During all the process the water must never enter his ears.
