Lost tail- Care help

I bought my gecko a little over a month ago and was told he didn't have a tail. No problem. I've been dusting crickets over that month. Eight, every other day, with sticky tongue farms calcium/mineral powder with vitamin D3. I just now figured out I may be over dusting. But, he/she(unsure if male/female) has a healing tail. Doing very good, but I was wondering if I should feed daily and keep dusting every other feed or?

Is she/he an adult or juvenile, if it's a juvenile you should offer food daily. As far as the dusting I do a 3 day calcium, 3 day multi-vitamins and I leave 1 day un-dusted (just so I don't over dust) but I guess I'd dust with multi-vitamins more. But honestly if she/he has been doing good with your dusting so far, I'd stick with what your doing. Hope her tail grows back nice and pretty

Well when I got him her, pet store said 6-8 months. Been a month so what does that classify? I don't want to over dust neither but 8 crickets every other day dusted didn't seem like a whole lot. But I'm not sure.

Well from what I've been told, it'd be best to feed daily and wait for her to be a year old then you can start feeding every other day. As far as over-dusting as long as you follow the recommended amount, like one pinch of calcium or multi-vits for 8 crickets although mine says you can use one pinch for 20-25 crickets. But I think as long as you dust as recommended then you shouldn't really be over dusting, there's a lot of info on dusting and how often to dust, just do a little research.

Yeah I know. And I think I may start feeding everyday if he/she isn't already used to the every other day feeding. And I'll go with every other feed, sounds good. Thanks My problem is we're not bonding quite enough to where I'm trusted on taking he/she o it yet so I can't weigh him/her.

Well don't worry too much some leos take time I mean like my leo I've had her almost 6 months now, still doesn't like being picked up :lol: but yea the only advice I could give would be leaving your hand in there and letting her lick you and stuff (if you've haven't done it already) and talk to her/he a bit and do it 20 mins a day if not more if you want. And then try starting to pet her head gently some leos like it a lot mine does haha. And another thing would to try placing your hand in front, she/he may or may not walk onto it, eventually you can start slowly picking her up. You got to be willing to do it as well patient

Yep I've been doing that. Feeding is just confusing seems how he/she (name is Emmilio) has a re-growing in tail. Pet store said to give 6-8 every other day and that what I've been doing and its going well. Also dusting has gotten confusing with all this research.

Well there's not much else I can help with a regenerating tail unfortunately but I think if what you've been doing so far is working for you and Emmilio then I wouldn't really change much
