feeding/gutloading question

So currently I feed my crickets for my leo potatoes, and gutload them with a homemade gutload from a pet store, but that is a long way away from my house. What is a good gutload I could find at my pet store, and are potatoes okay to for the diet? (Running low on cricket gutload)

Potatoes are a very poor food for crickets. They are way off on the calcium : phosphorus ratio we attempt to feed our geckos.

How about getting either an all purpose poultry food or Zoo Med's Natural Bearded Dragon Food Adult Formula for your dry cricket diet? If we lack specific nutrition expertise, ingredients we toss together are more or less a crap shoot.

Some people use Repashy's Superload as a gutload. Superload is NOT a food for feeding crickets 24/7.

Do you have any experience with the crickets liking the bearded Dragon food?

Also, could I just feed my crickets Apple's or oranges? And than gutload them?

Zoo Med's Natural Bearded Dragon Food Adult Formula was recommended by GU's Geckologist.tj in October 2013 as a dry cricket diet. You may wish to PM Geckologist.tj.

I use Albers All Purpose Poultry Feed as the dry diet for my crickets and Blaptica dubia.

Nope. Apples and/or oranges do not provide a balanced cricket diet. Did you notice the USDA Foods link right at the top of my Cricket Guidelines? You can insert most any food to check it out.

Any food overbalanced with phosphorus is not good. It is counterproductive to our goals of feeding our geckos food that has a 1.5-2.0 calcium to 1.0 phosphorus ratio.

It is very important to feed the feeders a good diet 24/7! Then you may feed crickets ONLY formal gutloads (T-Rex Calcium Plus Food for Crickets, Repashy's Superload ?) no more than 24-48 hours prior to feeding them off to the geckos. At least for the T-Rex gutload only use water for the crickets' moisture source during those 24-48 hours. If you provide other sources of moisture, the crickets may eat those instead of consuming thethe gutload.

Where can I find this all purpose poultry food? And yes, I do plan on buying a formal gutload once I run out. If I can't find the poultry food I will use the bearded Dragon food.

All Purpose Poultry Food can be purchased at feed stores. Vitamin A acetate should be one of the ingredients. :)
