Introducing Petri, my first personal crested gecko. After my boyfriend got one about a month back, I just had to have one. She is a complete doll and a great eater.

As Petri is my first crested, I hope I am doing everything right!
She is in a 18x18x18 Exo Terra tank all to herself. I have paper towel for the substrate, with half the tank cover with sphagnum moss. There is a log on the floor as well as one plant. There are 4 hanging plants throughout the cage, as well as a twisted vine running through it with one tall plant in the middle. The sides of the cage are covered with paper.
She weighs 9 grams as of yesterday.

I have this feeding schedule:
-Monday: Feed fresh Pangea
-Tuesday: leave in food
-Wednesday: Replace with fresh Clark's Fig
-Thursday: leave in food
-Friday: none/ or insects
-Saturday: Feed fresh BFG
-Sunday: leave in food

Humidity ranges throughout the day, I spray lightly when I see it gets down around 40%. At night before bed I do a heavy misting to being humidity to about 80% then it dries out over night and the next day.

I think that sounds pretty good. I would keep an eye that the sphagnum doesn't get moldy. I will tell you that if your crestie spends any time in the log hide, then she needs more vertical cover because it's unnatural for these guys to be on the ground. the only real exception is for eating, or occasionally if they bury themselves in the moss/substrate to shed, or of course when laying eggs.

also, if it is indeed a girl, in about 15 g you'll want to add a laybox in case she has virgin eggs :)

can you post a picture of the setup?

I've never seen her in the log except when I put her in it when I first put it it. She is for the most part in one of the plants. Thank for the heads up about the lay box.

I think it looks pretty good, although I would thicken the cover. more vines, and/or cork bark rounds, or some 2" bamboo tubes. the central portion of the cage is kind of empty, and it's space she can't use.

Thanks! I ordered it all online, and wasn't sure how much to order to fill this sized cage. I will work on getting some more to fill in the middle once I get paid in a few days :)

I ordered a magnetic ledge, and one more tall plant. I am going to the store to pick up another set of vines and am going to ask her breeder for some cork!
