Introducing my female Cresteds to my male

I finally decided to purchase 2 females for my male to breed my crested this year. When I went to get the females, the previous owner told me that they were both laying eggs already and they had been bred earlier this year. According to the previous owner, he said one has already laid "quite a few" eggs and the other just layed 2 eggs about 3 weeks ago.

They are in a big tank (30x12x21" Tall) so I was wondering if I could still introduce the male or not??

Thanks in advance

there are a few things that I find concerning here.

first of all, before breeding any animal I would hope you would quarantine the new acquisitions at least a few months (regardless of source) and make sure both are healthy and parasite- and disease-free.

secondly, if they've both already been bred and are currently producing eggs, you can put your male in with them but this doesn't mean any eggs they produce will be his. these geckos can retain sperm for months, and in fact your male might not contribute to any hatchlings until breeding season a year from now.

the third thing that strikes me is that your female who has laid "quite a few" won't have any time to rest but will continually be cycling up. this is really hard on female geckos.

if they were mine? I'd keep the girls separate at least 3 months for QT, and consider pairing them with your male after they've had at least two consecutive months where neither one has laid any eggs at all, and both have nice big calcium sacs.

good luck with your trio.
