How old when they climb and use food dishes?

Mine gecko A) never tried to climb on top of her tuppaware plastic moist hide, despite my putting another hide ontop of it for fun (one of those hermit crab coconut huts) B) she does not ever attempt to get worms from the porcelain mealworm dish. I don't think she has any clue they are in there despite how many times I try to show her. I gave up so as not to stress her. C) She won't eat calcium out of a dish either but she will lick it off the ground.

When do they get big enough to realize this other stuff is there? Just curious. I would eventually like to be able to give mealworms in a dish, though my meal worms move way more on the ground then in the dish.

Hi pixiepurls ~

I use clear glass food dishes with straight sides and a slanted rock step stool for access even though my leo is fully grown. Add a bit of cricket chow.

How are you doing for enclosure temps?

What type calcium are you keeping in the enclosure?

Put a small chunk of carrot in the mealworm dish to keep them active and appealing. I have a youngster like that too, what I did was place the dish a few inches away from his hide entrance. Day by day I notice the worms are reduced in number til they all disappear haha
