In my current set-up, I have a 20 gallon tank with a Zoomed medium U.T.H. Also during the day I use a 60 watt Zoomed daylight blue bulb on a dimmer that allows me to control the ambient temperature as well. At night I have a Zoomed moonlight 40 watt also on a dimmer. Currently, I do not run my U.T.H. 24/7. I'm curious if you all run your U.T.H.'s 24/7. Do you use any heat bulbs in addition as well? I realize that there are 100's of variables. Would love to know what some of you do.

Zoo med heat cable taped in serpent/sidwinder pattern across 1/3 of the enclosure 24/7. No lights. Except the one in the room on during the day and at night a brief flicker and flash from a tv till about 4 am.

Does another line of calcium powder.....

Hi I'd recommend leaving your UTH on 24/7 as it allows for proper heat for your gecko. Since they absorb heat through there underside. For the lights, raising air temps, some people have stated they have seen there gecko become more active. For the night at light, in my opinion, best to leave no lights on red light or moon light.. Studies have shown Leopard Geckos can see the red light.. Overall leave UTH on 24/7 for proper heat and lights on top is personal preference. Just remember to monitor temps and don't let the air temps go over 85.. don't think your gecko wants to get toasted, ya know?

What I used to do was medium sized UTH on 24/7. For overhead heating I used a 60 watt CHE (ceramic heat emitter on a dimmer) during the day. This set up was in a 20 gallon tank.

The uth should deff be on 24/7. A thermostat on your uth is also a good idea so you can set it at 91 degrees.
