Ok,

So there are people out there that have just a innate interest in humidity and temperature and especially devices that detect it; as a hobby. So I try to continuously expand my horizons and thought "why not chill will some of these folks". Well we talk alot about Temp/Humid Gauges here, mainly sold by "Reptile Companies". So I found all these killer Temp/Humid Gadgets that were amazing, expensive but amazing. Then while perusing a temp/humid Forum some rather experienced and or maybe the guy was a Genius in hiding said. " I dont know the name of it. It's tiny, round and has Weather Station on it and it reads Temp/Humid and its 7 dollars and suction cups to whatever and its insanely accurate. Well I found this mysterious gadget and it reads within 1 degree and 1 percent of where Im at and its awesome ( verified by Weather Channel, News, ,Gadgets etc... I found it on Amazon and has no idea who makes it but I hope to leave you with the info soon and if you already found it. Shame on you for letting some of us buy these expensive thingofamigjiggers:)

It is called "W-Deals Celsius Fahrenheit C/F LCD Thermometer Digital Hygrometer Temperature Humidity Gauge with Clip (Round)" the device is round I simply glued a small suction cup to its clip and popped it in on the enclosure wall. They have them but they are hard to find because of the price and size dont match up with the accuracy some people have told me they have had the same one 2 -3 years and it still reads the oudoor temp and humidity within a percent or degree. Maybe that would helpful.

Sounds like it should work well but I think it's a bit unfair to bash people for recommending other stuff. Most of the time it's just because it's been tried and tested. In my case it's often "I don't want to take the risk". Wouldn't matter much with a hygrometer but a lot of the time I'd rather spend a little more money on something I'm 100% will work because thousands of other people agree.

There are tons of inexpensive products available to check temp and humidity. Here is a link for dozens under $20.00 including the one you mentioned.

thermometer and hygrometer humidity - Free Shipping - DX

I believe chasing perfect humidity levels is a waste of time. Providing a proper temperature gradient and placing large humid hides with appropriate substrate in the "hot" zone of the enclosure will do the trick. I also use large corner water dishes. This is generally difficult to do for many of the hobbyists on this forum because their enclosures are to small in the first place.

In short…provide a proper temperature gradient along with a proper moist hide and the necessary humidity levels will come.
