I was told by some guy at repticon? I wasnt "with it" that day and I thought he said females generally get along. I could have totally misunderstood and under no circumstance house two males together.

Hi!

Im housing two females together right now and they get along just fine! It really depends on the leopard gecko though. That is true to NEVER house two males together as they will fight but females generally get along. But remember there is always the chance that your female would not like another one so be prepared to get a second tank/tub. Also how big is your enclosure? If its too small it could lead to problems between multiple leopard geckos. To introduce them what I did was put them in the bathtub together and had my brother watch them while I set up the enclosure this is a good way to see how they would react to eachother. I know some people here are really against housing multiple leopard geckos but if you are able to monitor them and provide enough space why not! :)

also please be prepared to quarantine the new female for at least 6 weeks (I'd go 3 months or longer, depending on source) before housing them together. it can take time when moved into a new environment for symptoms of parasites or other illness to arise.

it's your judgement call. I ALWAYS quarantine, but then over the years I've kept herps I've seen both IBD and Crypto outbreaks, and it's just not worth it. different lines could have different issues, animals can pick pick things up at shows or off your clothes. what is the risk worth to you?
