Hi Everyone,
Two days ago I just purchased my first crested gecko. He/She (Gilligan) is only about 2 months old weighing 4g. When I brought Gilligan home I had done a decent amount of research on Crestie's and other lizards. However, I did not come across the recommended "cool off" period to let them get acclimated (Even though I assumed this would be a good way to go). I handled Gilligan for a short period of time about 10 mins and then later the first night decided to try and feed him/her. Gilligan ate CGD right off my finger and then a little later was drinking water off the plants. Gilligan seems very happy and not hiding too much. He did sleep most off the day yesterday in one of his plants, but then at night again came out and was active. So my question is, are these cool off periods a necessity even when he is eating from my finger and drinking happily? What has been everyone else's experiences? Did I just get lucky with a happy lizard or is it because he's so young?
Thanks everyone for your time.
