Do unmated females lay eggs?

My son has a 14 year old female red eared slider turtle that is solitary and she lays eggs about three times a year. I wondered if my solitary female Leo would lay unfertilized eggs? Is this something I need to watch for?

It does happen, but not that often.

Yes infertile egg-laying of unmated turtles are not unheard of. Make sure to remove them to avoid unwanted invitation of molds
