we just found out our female leopard gecko is gravid and we should probably get an incubator, if not make one. we saw the lizards breeding last night and were wondering about how much time we'd have to get an incubator or make one. also, should i take the male out of the tank? he's gotten used to her larger tank. thanks! this will be my first clutch (assuming she's gravid)

You should have at least 2 weeks before the gecko lays. Before she lays you should be able to see the eggs on either side of her belly. I find that eco earth is a good substrate for the lay box, but I prefer to incubate the eggs in perlite (I use an egg box called a SIM that suspends the egg over the substrate).
For information about preparing perlite for the egg box where you bury the eggs part way in the substrate, look here: Albey's How To Incubate Leopard Gecko Eggs
For information about the SIM look here: squamataconcepts.com
