Would this light be good for just viewing?

Are you saying that bc you don't think the light will work, or bc they don't need a light? The reason I ask, is being that she only comes out at night when its not very bright in our house we barely ever see her even when she is out, bc there is just not enough light in the room to view the tank. That is why I want something to help us be able to view her, but not bother her. Any suggestions?

I'm sure it will work. Colored lights at night stress Leos out and anything short of natural light during the day can stress them out. Also they dont need lights. I have many Leos and some are hiders (all day) and come out at night others are active minimally during the day and more at night. Also was reading up on the product months ago. No timer or dimmer to simulate dawn and dusk. I would get a 15 watt home appliance bulb on a timer/dimmer to simulate dawn, dusk, daylight and dark. Its more complicated but it should be cheaper.

When I first started keeping Leos, I though about buying that product. Then I realized it was useless.

Now I use no lights other than the light I have in the LG room and the natural light from widows.

I use a red light during the evening. There is some debate as to weather red can be seen by geckos. My light also provides a little warmth. I use the little zilla halogen light. I like the look of your light set. Mine does use a small dome.

I understand the appeal and I did the same thing but with a blue light. I learned my lesson though.

I think that light would be fine for short periods of viewing. As long as you dont plan to leave it on all day or long periods at night.

No I don't I probably wouldn't use one at all during day since they tend to be sleeping, it would just be used from dusk till I went to bed. Ill have to think about it I guess.

Honestly i just turn on my room light. It doesnt seem to affect my gecko at all. I leave it off as much as possible at night, but if i want to watch him i will turn it on. That LED light you linked would work, but it may be a little too bright. It would be like a flash light in your eyes. I think just turning on a near by lamp would be less stressful.

I think of an LED light in general and I find them rather bright to myself. I then bring the Gecko into the situation which makes the decision for me.

I do what @kholtme does, I will turn on the light in the room at night to check on them but other than that its no light at night at all. They don't seem to mind the "checks" sometimes they get spooked, most of the time they just go about business

If you have a lamp with a dark lampshade and a warm coloured lightbulb you could put it a little away from your gecko's tank so that the lighting is... Late sunset. That doesn't disturb them much, it's kind of a budget lighting system - when daylights go off, lamp goes on. Turn it off before it gets way late, though. 10-ish
