Once I thought I had everything down...

This is getting more on my nerves than on the Geckos. My two "Pet" Geckos are very odd when it comes to what they deem a facility. My Normal likes to climb on top of her "humid hide" across the cage where she generally only used for shedding and hydration and **** on the roof. Thats cool.

My other Gecko insists on ******** in her dry hide where she spends almost all her time and about 2 centimeters from her face, tail, or any part of her body at any time. I remove it. Wipe everything down with a disinfectant wipe so there is nothing left behind even a smell.

Does it every time. I thought "move the feces to a different part of the enclosure"?

I dont know. She doesnt care but I am kinda confused.....mainly agitated.

I dont want a "cute" little cut out corner for her to do her business just not in the dry hide. She ambush's most of her prey either from the opening of the dry hide or Paradise forbid they enter the dry hide she smash's them. I could see it becoming very unsanitary.

Suggestions?

I'm not sure how you could get them to stop, but I'm in the same boat. My boy likes to hang out in his hammock and then turn it into his hanging bathroom. It's annoying because sometimes the poop rolls off and lands on one of his hides, but I'm just dealing with it. I know when I take the hammock out he goes back into pooping in his usual spots on the tile. Maybe you could somehow rearrange the cage furniture?

If you've had them for a while and they've had time to acclimate, try rearranging the tank. Switch things around. Even buy a new hide or try a temporary one. Often times this will force them find a new spot to poop. Best of luck!

can you please not use profanity in your posting? it would be appreciated. I've asked another mod to come and edit the text, as I'm not sure how to do so (I haven't encountered that particular issue as yet).

thanks. carry on...

I agree with B&B try to rearrange the setup and put the "bath room" stuff in the spot you want. That will normally do the trick for my guys.

Thanks for the input, My apologies for the profanity ( I am only human). I was going to rearrange the layout but went with my gut and put a BM into a more acceptable area. She is now using that area. If she reverts. I will rearrange.

Thanks,
