Shipping

I'm new to breeding and thus leads to shipping my hatchlings. Who do you guys generally use for shipping and how do you go about packaging and such? I will be shipping crested geckos which are somewhat hardy but I'd prefer to not take a chance and lose a little one. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Shipping your first live reptile can seem daunting, but it is actually pretty simple and straightforward once you understand the process.

We have a detailed Get Help section at ShipYourReptiles that will walk you through the process, including packaging standards and temperature guidelines.

The first thing you need is the proper packaging, including an insulated box. We sell packaging at our site, so does TSK Supply.

If you are going to ship just once or twice, you can get a shipping kit, which includes everything you need to complete a single shipment. If you are going to be doing a handful of shipments, or many, it is more economical to purchase your supplies in larger quantities. Both options are available.

Packaging ships out Ground, so be sure to order a week or two in advance, so you have it on hand and ready to go.

When you are ready to book your labels, you do that at our site as well. You can book your labels in advance, even days in advance. Once you put the package in the system, all of the tracking and info will update accordingly.

Many breeders prefer to ship only Monday-Wednesday. You are only allowed to ship live reptiles Monday through Thursdays. An overnight shipment sent out on Friday won't arrive until Monday, and that is not allowed.

You can book with On-Time and Live Arrival Insurance if you choose, it is optional, and goes up to $10,000 on the site.

You are correct, geckos do very well with shipping. If you follow the packaging and temperature guidelines, you should expect complete success with your shipment.

We have staff available to help and answer questions Mon-Friday 7am to 6pm MST. Let us know if you have any questions! Info@ShipYourReptiles.com
