I rescued a gecko, this is her progress

I posted this on another forum, I just thought I'd post it here too, since some people choose one site to go on than another.

I run a very small rescue at home for Leopard geckos, but I have enough space time and money to care for a few at a time so I do. It went quiet for a while after adopting out 5 geckos that i cared for, for months, and even a Ball Python that came in.

I got an email from someone who had an 8 year old gecko they wanted to get rid of, because their son didn't have the time to take care of her anymore.

I got her in, and she was really skinny. Afraid she may be extremely ill, I gave her a superworm to see if she'd go for it, and she's been eating like a champ everyday.

This was her two and a half weeks ago when I got her:

and these are pictures from today:

She is extremely cute and attentive. I gave her a dose of Panacur, her next is on Monday, for parasites. Other than that, she is very cute and is not very tame, but loves coming out to see if I have food or not

I'll update on her progress as she gains weight and hopefully gets to a much more appropriate gurth

If you wanna donate, please donate here https://www.gofundme.com/reptileresq It keeps my rescue going and helps me get extra care if needed for any of these animals c:

It's great to see that kind of improvement! Keep up the good work, she is clearly doing much better in your care!

Just an update on her weight. Her tail doesn't seem to be getting bigger than this although i feed her every other day regularly, she hasn't missed a meal, might get some waxworms or phoenix worms to get her to gain a bit more weight and be adoptable. She had MBD, and it's getting better but she permanently has a weird walk with her back legs, but makes a very great gecko. Working on her tame-ness because she bites me a lot thinking I'm food....

Oh man she's definitely not that bad! She was when I got her but she walks perfectly fine now, her legs just might have permanently been disfigured growing up without a constant source of calcium, theyre just slightly off, doesn't hinder her ability to run and catch food or anything

She practically licked her calcium dish clean for the few months I've had her so it's gotten better :)
I can get a video still though

She looks great!!!

I've considered getting a second leo one day. In an ideal world, I'd like to get a rehabilitated gecko from a rescue like yours. It seems like so many of them need homes!

Definitely adopt if you do plan on getting one in the future! Theres so many that aren't cared for and would love a loving owner

I'm glad she can catch her food. That's a huge +!

A video will be nice.

Did you notice both Boomie videos (initially and now)?

PS:
Which type and brand of calcium did you use during her recovery?
