New gecko

So since I bred my pair last season and I really enjoyed. So I've decided to look at getting another one to breed in the spring. I know the horror stories of getting an animal from a big box store but I found an adorable pinner at one of them and I want it! But I'm scared bc of those stories, has anyone ever bought from one of these stores? There's also a beautiful citrus phantom pinner and idk which to get! The first is the big box pinner and the second is the other one. Help!

I have occasionally gotten geckos from stores like these. If the geckos look well cared for and healthy, it shouldn't be a problem. Since there doesn't seem to be as much of an issues with knowing the genetic heritage of cresties for breeding as opposed to leopard geckos, for example, it shouldn't be a problem. You could always make a vet visit with a fecal sample after you get it, just in case.

Ya I've called around and the store would buy it back if I suspect anything's wrong with it and they'd take it to a vet and then I could buy it back. Just don't know which to get, any suggestions based in the pics I posted? I don't know either sex so they'd either mate with my choc flame male or my red creamsicle flame female.

They both do look healthy. And I agree with Aliza. I'm partial to pinners myself, having a pinner line of my own, so I know who I'd pick. :)
I can't wait till my pinners get up to weight. Prolly not till 2017 though. :/
The only problem I'm seeing is that they both appear too small to breed. Or at least, I don't think they'll be up to breeding weight by the spring 2016. That and you probably won't know their sex for a while either. They both still look under 10 grams. I've found that by the 10 gram mark you should be able to accurately loupe-sex them. There are those weird cresties though that don't follow that rule though.
If you're looking to actually breed by spring, I'd look into finding a larger kid that is a probable female.
Otherwise it's the waiting game. lol

eh, I prefer yellow over brown. the pinner will more likely result in a better price for offspring.

my only issue with the box store pickup is that I would easily double QT time.

The yellow is a phantom pinner, here are two other pics of it. Ya I'm at a lose bc I like them both and I know spinners offer better prices for offspring.

So here it is! Think I made out pretty good, looks like a pinner/harlequin combo! He fires up a nice bright rust color. Let me know what you think! Also how long should I qt and is there anything special I need to do aside from keeping them separate and paper towel substrate?

Nice nearly full pinner! It's got some neat lateral lines going on too! I personally love the high contrast pinners!
