Probably stupid gecko

Hello again ,

looks like Mr. Spanky is a total idiot. He tries to get out of his terrarium every evening, but today he did something really special. Mr. Spanky tried to dig a tunnel under a pile of rocks.. and of course got stuck there really bad. He was just lying there, stuck, with his eyes closed, so I had to dig him out. Immediately I dug him out, he continued his effort of climbing the glass. For a few moments he even tried to push the glass with his head. He always tries it on one side of his terrarium, I think he sees the light. What should I do? I really don't want him to hurt himself. He is 7months old, weights about 75 grams.. oh and I saw his chassis today when he was trying to climb the glass and it looks like we got Mrs. Spanky here.

Well he is very active, climbs just everything. But trying to climb the glass every evening is a bit stupid.. getting stuck under a rock is definitely stupid. I really don't know what might be wrong. I just hope he will stop when he grows up.

Try adding something else in there for him to climb on or change up the scenery a bit. Sometimes they get bored with the tank and need a change. You can also try some heavy stacking stones to make a jungle gym, so to speak, for him to climb up and use a paper towel roll or painted PVC pipe as a tunnel.

I plan on doing so in about 14 days, I have lots of exams these days and I will be out of town. I'm not the best painter, but this is how it should look like

The huge cave and entire floor will be made out of the excavator clay. The pieces of granite will be put inside the clay, so they will touch the very bottom of the terrarium and will be nicely warm. I want to give him as much space in the middle of the enclosure as possible, so I will not make no piles of stones. Maybe I will get rid of the old little hide, because the snake cave will take a lot of space.

Also, you could try putting paper over three sides so he can't see out. Maybe he's looking at everything that's going on outside and wants in on the action.

I think you should also adding a few more levels of stuff to climb on. Nothing perminant though, if he gets bored quickly you're gonna want to move stuff around, add and remove, a little more often. There's plenty of reptile hammocks, magnet ledges, cricket feeders, multi-story hides. Burrows, and other such things are available on some online stores.

Also, maybe you should remove one wall of paper every other day? So he gets used to his surroundings? Then becomes less curious.

I'm afraid of doing so. He is really crazy, I'm afraid he would fall off and hurt himself..
That might be an interesting idea, removing the paper.. I will consider it. Thanks
