Baby Gecko

I have a baby gecko born on Jan 7 of this year. Don't know if it's considered a baby or a juvie? And the store suggested maggots and baby crickets but they seem a bit too small(the crickets) and get lost in the habitat. And the maggots are constantly cocooning on me. So what do you usually feed a month old Leo? Are mealworms ok? Maybe small crickets instead of baby ones? Anything helps right now thx

What are these maggots? If they are cocooning then they're probably wax worms and need to be stored in the fridge, usually 1/4" crickets should be a good size for a juvenile. I would just throw 2 crickets in at a time and see if it will eat them, seeing as how you just got it recently, I would not expect it to eat much right now.

Well then wax worms. I had them in the fridge they even cocooned in the fridge! And if they are in the food dish too long they cocoon as well. Not sure if I have 1/4" crickets..but they are pretty fast considering their sizes. I didn't expect it to eat much either but I was surprised left about 5 worms in there this morning they were gone when I got home... But again are mealworms ok? I don't like wasting food because they cocoon up on me I have no use for them. And the crickets are VERY tiny I mean like crumb size

Mealworms are fine, just a every day staple diet of them will become fattening over time. You probably have the pinhead crickets, yes those are TINY and extremely fast. I would try to see if they have any that are around 1/4"

Ok. Yea pinhead describes them very well. Never seen a cricket so fast and tiny before it can't even catch them...ill pick up some mealworms then and go to my local pet store and grab some slightly bigger crickets

Usually what the big chain pet stores sell as small crickets are small/big enough for a juvenile. Pinheads are more for hatchlings and other smaller lizards/frogs/
