Rather be safe than sorry

My other gecko did not make it. He just wasn't doing to well and past away. It has been a month since my last gecko and as a gift for I got another gecko from my grandma. Buddy is his name and when I got him he was much bigger and much healthier looking. I got him a week ago and the day I got him he ate 4 crickets. Then the next day he only ate 1 cricket and then didn't it for a couple of days or so. He then started shedding and I was so happy about. It's been 2 days and he hasn't eaten and he did it the shedded skin. Is this normal? How long before he will it normally? What should I do if he doesn't eat soon? I am new at this and done my research about everything, but people say different things and I would rather be safe than sorry because I don't want to loose another gecko. And I want to know the signs if I need to take him to a reptile or not.

I would keep offering food. Sometimes they will go a day or two between feedings after a shed, he could also still be in the adjustment period and feeding will be hit or miss with that to. Try not to stress out too much.

Try offering some mealworms or another type of feeder to, variety is always good so they do not get bored with 1 specific feeder insect.

Is he eating yet? If not, it may not be warm enough. One of my geckos didn't have much of an appetite for a few weeks and it turned out it was because his heat mat was off for some reason
