Slimy Poo - Any help appreciated!

Hello All,

I'm back with yet another gecko health question.

Quick background - My gecko eats very little. She has been to the vet twice now and completed a full round of antibiotics and given a deworming treatment. Nothing has helped the eating situation. I offer her pretty much everything you could feed a gecko. She is active, alert, enjoys (or at least doesn't mind) being handled. No swelling, strange lumps, runny nose, throwing up, and no loose substrate for her to ingest. Eventually I chalked it up to her being picky and just not being a big eater. I've been hand feeding her when she goes a long time without food, so she hasn't lost weight.

BUT

I'm still having issues with slimy poops. I don't have a picture but basically if the urate was the roof of the house...half of the house would be made of normal brown poop and the other half a brownish white mucusy bit. Sometimes it's just a little bit at the tip (for large poops) and sometimes it's half the poo (for smaller poops). I took stool samples to he vet both times, the second time they said it was fine. But I don't know...from what I've read it should be a little moist but solid? The normal brown part is pretty solid just to clarify, so I wouldn't call it diarrhea.

The vet I take her too is the closest I've found to a reptile specialist in my area. I'm posing this issue to you friendly people to see if you have any suggestions before I spend another $100+ for a visit and treatment that doesn't work. Or a good question to ask or idea to present to the vet? Or if anyone is in the San Jose area, a recommendation for a good reptile vet?

I live in the East Bay area. What vet have you been taking your gecko to? I've taken my leopard gecko Scooter to Dr. Siperstein at the Berkeley Dog and Cat hospital. It was expensive (I paid about $100 for a wellness check), but I did like her.

I'm taking her to De Anza Vet Clinic in Cupertino. They are a great office and I would recommend them to leo (and other pet) owners any day. I just think my girl is a weird case and a second opinion, especially from someone who is specialized in reptiles, wouldn't hurt.

I googled your vet, and it looks like they have what I'm looking for! But Berkeley may as well be on the moon, lol. It takes just under an hour without traffic...and there is always traffic. BUT if I get desperate, I will definitely keep them in mind.

A quick update, I was able to get a picture of some poo (dunno what she ate to make it... Probably leftover shed) so you can see what I'm talking about about. I'd appreciate the guidance while I continue my search for a second vet. The urate looks a little yellow because of the lighting, but it was white.
