hello, im not sure if this is the right spot for this question so sorry if its not! but does anyone have tips for getting rid of mold growing in a water dish? i scrub it out with dish soap whenever i see it but it just keeps coming back and im scared of using any harsher chemicals on it in case it could hurt my gecko. has anyone found a way to successfully remove it or am i just better off getting a new dish?

Hello There, I've Never had that kind of issue with Mold before, But I would just recommend getting a new one or make your own by taking a little restaurant sauce cup and completely washing it with hot water and cleaning it, Then just dry it and put it in, Hope this Helped Somewhat, I'm not a advanced keeper though, so its your call :D

What is the water dish made of and where is your cage situated. I have a water dish that gets green growth in it, but it's algae because the dish is near the window.

Hi

If you're really bothered you could empty it of water, fill it with neat vinegar and leave it to soak for a bit, then wipe around making sure you get it all, rinse well, and fill with water. If your dish has limescale in, don't worry if it starts to fizz.

As vinegar is a food, if there are traces left it should be OK, but don't leave it in the viv with actual vinegar in, as I wouldn't want to drink it, and I don't suppose your leo does either.

Vinegar is quite good as a "killer of bad bugs", but also removes limescale too :)
