Sick crestie

So yesterday I found my juvenile crestie acting weird at the bottom of the enclosure. I reached in to get him out and it backs up and starts flailing about with its mouth open. I took it out and it seemed cold and kept trying to bite me. I was able to see the calcium sacs and they seemed ok. I put food and a bottle cap of water in the critter keeper as well as putting some on its nose, which it kicked off and ate it. He also seemed very lethargic, as in not keeping its body off the paper towel and very slow movements unless its flailing around. He wasn't able to keep his grip on anything in its tank. Has anyone ever seen this type of behavior? Unfortunately when I woke up this morning the little guy was gone, mouth was closed and it's tongue was out.

Sorry for your loss. Sometimes something is going on inside and there's no way to know there's a problem till it's too late.

Awww ... so sorry for your loss .... it sucks. I lost 2 adults this year ... but no idea why, just some guesses.

It might have been sick, or it might have been overly stressed ... or it could have been the ambient temperature. Unless you pay big bucks, you may never know.

If crickets had been left in the tank, they might have bit him, or he may have issues with the substrate (if there was any).

Like I said, it hurts ... and it sucks ... but there are no real answers to give you.

Hang in there ....
