Heating tips during power outage

Hi all,
Los Angeles is experiencing a TON of rain lately and there's a power outage in my home neighborhood right now (typing this from work, where I still have power). DWP is estimating that my power will not be back until 6am tomorrow, if that.

All my UTHs and ceramic heat emitters are obviously unable to function right now. Any tips on how to best keep the leos toasty until power returns? It has been getting plenty cold at night recently and I don't want them to get too uncomfortable if I can help it. I have considered well wrapped re-useable hand warmers or hot water bottles, but am hesitant since either could be way too hot at first.

hand warmers. and the water bottles are fine too. for things that are too hot, tape to the underside of the lid of a temporary housing bin so the heat radiates down and so they can get away from it.

Thank you! Glad to know i was on the right track.

What are your lows right now without any heat?

Hand and foot warmers peak at temperatures way too hot!

For emergencies like this stock up on Uniheat 40 and 72 hour heat packs designed for reptiles and shipping reptiles. The Reptile Supply Company based in Sacramento carries both those for prices that can't be beat.

Great suggestion! I had forgotten that those specialized packs are available. I should certainly get some for future use.
