Heating Lamps

Hi, my leopard gecko spends a lot of time in the warm hide and I would like her to use some of her other hides too. I plan on getting her a branch and a reptile hammock on the cool side too. I was wondering what heating lamp would be the best to bring the temperature up 5-10 degrees, it's usually 68 degrees on the cool side. On the warm side, it isn't too cold but a lamp could make it a little better for her. I just want the best for her. Thank you in advance.

An incandescent light may help. You could also wait awhile till it warms up and the gecko will come out naturally. Up to you.

I would be more comfortable letting a gecko that is active during the day and basking (like my gold dust day geckos and my bearded dragons) get its D3 through the UVB. I really don't know how much your gecko is out of the hide and receiving the UVB rays. If you feel the gecko spends a reasonable amount of time under the lights, then, as long as you change the bulb every 6 months, I guess it should be adequate. If the gecko is in the hide all day, as long as the UVB is on, then I think it's more reliable to go with the supplements.
