Ceramic heat emitter recommendations

I'm looking into ceramic heat emitters to use during the winter months for my 5 to 6 month old leopard gecko (his age is a total guess as he is a rescue). I have never used a CHE before so I'm not sure what wattage I should be using or which brand I should get. I'd be using it for a tank that is 18 ins long x 18 ins wide x 12 ins high and in conjunction with an 8x12in heat mat. I have already been recommended the petco brand CHE but in all honesty I've been trying not to buy things from petco becuase of how they treat their animals, at least the one near me doesn't take very good care of their geckos, iguanas and bearded dragons.

It's difficult to recommend an exact wattage CHE because of the differences in how much accessory heat you may need.

I've had poor success with several Exo Terra CHEs. I'm happy with All Living Things CHEs. All Living Things is a PetSmart brand.

In order to tweak it down, you'll need a 2nd thermostat or at least a rheostat/dimmer.

I'm definatly getting another thermostat when I get the CHE. I've had better experience with petsmart so I'll look into their CHEs. Does ZooMed make any?
