Walking in circles?

(Picture of her TEMPORARY enclosure with illustration below) This is what Fii has been doing some time last night and up to 10am; coming out of her bamboo hide, then circling once or twice, pause, and slowly go back into her hide. Could it be Enigma, or is she searching for something? I have everything food/water/calcium wise. I thought that maybe she could just be looking for more room, but her circles are tight.

If anything and if she keeps doing it, I'll schedule and appointment with the vet. She needs to go in for a fecal matter, wellness check and X-ray anyways to make sure her last owner didn't have her on sand.

Try a larger warm dry hide first. Her current bamboo hide is a pretty snug fit. She can't get her tail inside. You can make another hide similar to the humid hide you already made.

Regarding sand:
  • Does her belly feel hard or lumpy?
  • Do you see a dark mass when you look?
  • How about a belly photo?
You mentioned the moss mat was blocking heat. Since you removed the moss mat, you mentioned that it was warmer.

Let's troubleshoot the easy part. There may be no need for x-rays. Once you have one of those yellow digital thermometers with a probe, you'll be able to share the temps you get under her warm dry hide. Current temps at or near 88-92*F will be sufficient for her to properly digest her food.

The pet shop where you work may even carry these yellow Zoo Med digital thermometers with a probe.

She can get her whole body in, but it is smaller than I thought. I will get her a much larger warm hide!
Here's a picture of her belly:

I didn't get much opportunity to feel it, but it doesn't look dark or blue.

Yes, I'll get a digital thermometer as well.

Her belly looks fine. :)

A medium size warm hide with a small entry way will be excellent!
