Summer cooling

It's not even proper summer yet but since my room is north facing + upstairs it gets hot during the day. I have both windows wide open for air flow and have started turning off the UV light through the hottest part of the day (on from 6am-10am, off from 10am-4pm and back on from 4pm-8pm) because if i don't, the cool side ground temp gets up to about 27°C.

The only thing that concerns me with the UV light off she seems to think it's night again (though my room is very bright during the day, her tank is in a fair bit of shade) and she wouldn't be able to bask like she sometimes does during the day. I used to see her bask evening and morning but not so much anymore, and at the vet's reccommendation I still use d3 supplement every other week.

I've tried a refreezable ice pack on top of the tank (wrapped up to soak up the condensation as it thaws) but it really doesn't seem to make that much of a difference. Even with it inside the tank there's not a hell of a lot of difference. Same with misting the tank

My other two options for when summer really sets in I suppose would be to either have a fan pointed at the UV light to help keep the unit cooler during the day if I have it on from sunrise-sunset, or to move her to a different room.

What other methods of cooling do people here use or can suggest?

I assume you're in the southern hemisphere. During our summer, it can get into the mid 90's F in my living room. The leopard geckos go to the cool side and we all suffer gracefully. I think they are more hardy and able to handle temperature variations than we give them credit for.
