Crested gecko eyelash shed problem

I'm new here to the forums, and I recently purchased my first crested gecko after doing my homework and talking with some experienced keepers.

Overall, he/she is doing well. It knows where the food and water dishes are and is eating/drinking well. I've had it for a bit over a week now, and the gecko is still young (estimated about 4 months old). I've been hands-off for now to let it settle in, but in the meantime am getting it used to my presence and the feeding/cleaning/misting routine.

However, I noticed something strange about its eyelash a few days ago. At first I thought maybe it just got a piece of something stuck on it, but after getting a better look, it seems more like a piece of shed skin that got stuck. This was not there when I bought it, so I'm guessing it shed since being here.

Although it doesn't seem to be irritating the gecko, should I try to remove it? Since I'm not handling yet, and this young guy is a bit jumpy, what is the best method to do so? It's a tricky area being so close to his eye, and I don't want to hurt him. Will it come off on its own or with the next shed?

These pictures are not the best, but hopefully they help illustrate the problem.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

to me, it doesn't appear to be constricting anything. it will most likely fall off soon by itself; I'd leave it alone. just in case there is a humidity issue, you might carefully check the feet. toes can be damaged by stuck shed and I'd make sure there aren't any skin "mittens" left over.

as it's only been a week, sometimes the first shed cycle can be less than perfect. if this is the only issue, I'd just give it time to self-correct and keep an eye out for any future retained shed, which would mean the humidity needs a bump.

oh, and welcome!

Thank you!! I will leave it be then. I really didn't want to have to disturb him/her unnecessarily.

The feet look good from what I've seen, but I'll take a closer look tonight to be sure.
