Can darkling beetles infest your home?

So I’ve grown a pretty successful mealworm colony however now that School is out I’m going to my dads for the summer and obviously taking my gecko with me. My dad and step mom are extremely against keeping the colony because they said “if two get out and mate in our floor boards I’m not paying the pest control bill”. I’ve always heard that they won’t or can’t infest a house but there’s a lot of stuff out there about prevention of darkling beetle infestations and now it’s got me a little scared as well. I’m yet to have any escapees and I think my container is escape proof but if two beetles did get loose...?

It's not likely to get your home infested even with two escaped roaches. Breeding mealworms is pretty difficult on it's own. If you live on a heap of flour or garbage, yeah it's possible. But even then it's still not likely.
Plus, why do you breed mealworms? I think it's cheaper to just buy them, they cost close to nothing.

It shouldn't be a problem. Even if they escape and mate, the tiny mealworms will dehydrate.
