I have a fish-scaled gecko (geckolepis maculata). She's very beautiful and about 16cm in length (6inch). I'm gonna build a new tank for her, a 40-gallon vertical paludarium, which will be planted and bioactive. I will probably keep it about 25-30 degrees C (77-86F) with high humidity, which is how I keep my gecko currently. She also has a uvb lamp and plant-growing lights.
Now I love her very much but she's strictly nocturnal. I never see her in the day and I would like something to look at apart from the plants. I bought her from the reptile store where she was kept with an anole with no problems. However I am more of a gecko person. I wondered if there was a species of day gecko that grew to a similar size that I could keep with her. Seeing as they're both madagascan and also quite delicate, I thought they would make good tank mates but only if they're similar sized, have similar requirements and are non-aggressive.
Is this possible? Any species recommendations? Should I stick with anoles?
