Bathroom locations?

My leopard gecko seems to like using the washroom in privacy. He always tends to use the cool hide as his bathroom location. I rarely ever see him in the cool hide when he is out and about, he is always in either the moist hide or the warm hide or under a bridge/shelf set up on the warm side of the enclosure. I lay a piece of paper towel under the cool hut. I have even taken the paper towel with his poop on it and moved it out of the cool hide. He will still go back and poop in the cool hut. I have tried moving the cool hide and paper towel to different locations in the tank both together and separate, however he always uses the cool hide as the bathroom. Is this a normal thing or is each leopard gecko different and have there own personality when it comes to something like this making it normal.

Don't worry. It's normal. My leo poops in her cool hide too. Using the cool hide for pooping makes it easy to find. Nothing beats privacy!

Warm locations are best kept for belly heat. :)

All mine liked to poop higher up(they would climb on things),but sometimes it would drop to the bottom anyway

Each is different. I work with several species of ground dwelling geckos. Some individuals defecate in a hide, some on top of the hide, and some simply use the far corner.
