She started her first shed about 36 hours ago. Me and zelda seem to have an understanding. Lol. She will come to me and i can tell when she doesnt want to be bothered. Its not unusual to wake up to her staring at me through her home. Well ill admit she isnt the smartest gecko. (I know she is new to the world) but she didnt even try to get her skin off. The humidity in her tank is great. She has 3 hides, moist, cool and warm. And she had everything she needs. (Things she can scrape against) well today i noticed she had trouble opening one of her eyes. So i knew the shed had to come off. I know they stress during shed and as soon as i picked her up she bit me. First time ever. Shes never hissed or anything. I do hear an occasional chirp noise. I expected a bite. As soon as i got my tweezer s and started slowly removing skin, she completely relaxed. I had to laugh. I was even able to rub the skin off her nose and she just layed in my hand. The toes were difficult. I had to use my spray bottle which she hates lol. But once i got it all off. I slowly put her back in her terrarium. She didnt run. She walked off my hand and came right back on. She opened her eyes for a bit licked aeound and then layed down. To me that was a beautiful moment. I think she truly knew i meant no harm. Im not aure if i did the right thing. Which is why i posted here. But she is part of our family and we do love her very much. I want the best for her. So if anyone has any advice. Its very very welcome. Im leaving a picture of her shed. I put it in the tank. I know they eat it. Im not sure if shw will it way after as this was about 20 minutes ago. Thanks very much.
