Hello!
I am back on this site after forgetting about it somewhat, and I got sidetracked as well, but now I am here! My gecko is doing good, we got everything that we needed so that our enclosure was up to the caresheet's standards, it was a little bit tricky to understand everything at first, but I am getting the hang of things by now. So, the gecko is originally my younger sibling's, but he doesn't seem all that interested anymore, instead he wants to chase the dreams of being a professional gamer, and I am now taking full charge of this gecko to ensure it stays healthy and looked after. I got really tired of the neglect, after I spent all this time and effort to get things into shape, but obviously I need to be the one who takes care of this gecko for good.
I will run down the specs of the enclosure to remind everyone since it's been a while...
Tank:
It's a standard glass "breeder" tank, which has a total measured size of 36x18x16 in (91x45x40 cm) which has a total size of 45 US gallons (170 liters).
Heating:
On the bottom of the tank, there are two Ultratherm heating pads that cover roughly half the bottom of the tank, and are monitored on an Inkbird thermostat to stay around 92-93 degrees fahrenheit. I taped them very tightly to the bottom to prevent drooping to ensure full heat exposure.
Lighting:
I have two lights on the tank, one is a UVB ReptiSun bulb, and the other is a regular old LED house bulb, which basically serves for extra daylight because the UVB isn't bright enough on its own.
That's basically everything besides the decorations and all, but I need to add photos of the tank for clarity. I am still adding a few things, like some extra plants and accessories including a small hammock. She's been using one specific corner for her bathroom spot, and she likes to bury it too, which I assumed to not be good. So, in order to fix it I am going to be putting a small flat tray made from plastic to catch her droppings, and then which can be easily disposed of. I am not fond of the large bulky water dish, so I am looking for a better option, and I thought about a small glass bowl, but all I can find has high edges which isn't very accessible for the gecko, so I am still looking for a better option.
I will upload some photos once the lights come on, don’t want to interrupt her lighting schedule.
