Handling my Gecko after she only is used to crawling on

I’ve had Calypso for almost a year now but I haven’t picked her up/scooped (except once when she was wall surfing and her belly was exposed) since I first got her but then I stopped. So does anyone think she’d be fine with it since she willingly climbs up on me and that past experience makes it seem she’s okay with it?
I just want to start picking her up and getting more comfortable with her and eventually pet her.

If you think she'll be OK with it, go ahead. It's best to scoop her up from below (slide your hand under her) and make a little cave for her with your hands. Avoid a situation where you pick her up and hold her in the room in general so if she freaks out, she doesn't end up running free in the room. For example, when you first pick her up, hold her for awhile over the cage so if she freaks out you can put her back in. Pulling the cushions out a bit from the couch and letting her run back there is a good idea as well.

Okay thanks! I think a big thing I’m missing is confidence so just hearing someone else’s opinion helps. And I have a table right next to the tank since she’s in my basement so alls good. Thanks a bunch!
